Athletic Bilbao delivered a commanding performance in their 10th round La Liga clash, cruising to a 4-0 victory against Getafe. The hosts controlled the pace from the opening whistle, leaving the visitors with little opportunity to settle into the game.
The breakthrough came in the 17th minute when Alex Berenguer found the net with a precise free-kick. Inaki Williams doubled the lead just before halftime, capitalizing on a defensive opportunity in the 35th minute.
After the break, the intensity from the hosts remained high. Aitor Paredes extended the lead to three in the 70th minute, while Yuri Berchiche finalized the scoreline in the 88th minute. Getafe struggled to find a response throughout the match, and their frustration compounded when Martin was sent off in the 86th minute.
The result highlights the efficiency of the Athletic Bilbao attack and the solidity of their defense, which kept a clean sheet against a struggling Getafe side.
