Birmingham City sign Canada defender Marie Levasseur

Women's Super League newcomers Birmingham City have completed the signing of Canada international defender Marie Levasseur. The 29-year-old arrives from Montpellier, having made 63 appearances for the French side over the past three seasons.

Levasseur brings significant experience to the squad, having previously played for FC Fleury, Metz, and ONS Oulu after developing through the University of Memphis programme. She has earned 18 caps for Canada since making her senior international debut in 2015.

The defender becomes Birmingham City's fourth signing of the week, joining recent arrivals Jade Rastocle, Millie Turner, and Lisa Naalsund as the club reshapes its roster for the new campaign.

Birmingham manager Amy Merricks highlighted the importance of the acquisition, noting that the player's mentality was a key factor during the recruitment process. The club expects Levasseur to play a significant role in their ongoing project.
