Benjamin Stambouli retires from professional football
36-year-old French midfielder Benjamin Stambouli has announced his retirement and plans to pursue a coaching career.

French midfielder Benjamin Stambouli has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 36. After a career spanning several top European leagues, the veteran playmaker has decided to hang up his boots and focus on transitioning into the coaching profession.
Stambouli began his professional journey at Montpellier, making his debut in 2010. His breakout success came in the 2011/12 season when he helped the club secure the French league title. His performances soon drew international interest, leading to a move to Tottenham in 2014.
A year later, he joined PSG, where he added another French championship title to his collection in the 2015/16 season. Throughout his career, Stambouli also represented Schalke, Adana Demirspor, Reims, and Metz, which served as the final club of his playing days.
