The potential transfer of Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid to Barcelona has hit a snag, with reports suggesting internal opposition within the Catalan club. According to reports from Spain, four Barcelona players are far from convinced by the prospect of the Argentine forward joining the squad.
Ferran Torres is among those unhappy, as he views himself as a key player and fears his role would be diminished. This uncertainty has reportedly led him to consider a move to PSG. His close teammates Gavi and Pedri share a similar sentiment, viewing the arrival of the Argentine as unnecessary.
Raphinha has also expressed concerns, questioning the need to spend 150 million euros on Alvarez after the club already secured the signings of Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi. This perspective is mirrored by sporting director Deco and manager Hansi Flick, who consider the player's current market price to be inflated.
Despite this resistance from both the players and members of the sporting management, club president Joan Laporta remains committed to making Julian Alvarez his primary target for the summer.
While the club president pushes for the deal, Atletico Madrid continues to hold a firm stance, categorically refusing to sell their star striker to Barcelona. The situation remains in deadlock as the club attempts to balance financial priorities with the concerns of their current squad.
