Atlante Secures Impressive 4-2 Victory Over Monterrey

Atlante put on an authoritative display to defeat Monterrey 4-2 at Estadio Banorte, marking their second win of the current tournament. The victory highlights the growing momentum for the side led by Miguel Herrera.

The scoring began in the 11th minute when Luis Puente capitalized on a rebound inside the box to open the account. Monterrey responded shortly after, as Hugo Cuypers fired a powerful left-footed strike into the top corner following an assist from Óliver Torres to level the match.

After a tied first half, Atlante reclaimed the lead in the 53rd minute through a low shot from Luis Calzadilla. Eduardo Tercero extended the lead to 3-1 in the 64th minute after connecting with a headed pass from Jhojan Julio. Although Monterrey narrowed the gap to 3-2 via a Roberto de la Rosa header in the 82nd minute, Julio eventually sealed the result in the final minutes after rounding goalkeeper Esteban Andrada.
