Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has addressed speculation regarding potential high-profile signings during the current summer transfer window. The Gunners boss remained cautious when asked about reports linking the club to Argentine striker Julian Alvarez.
When questioned during a press conference about his interest in bringing Alvarez to the Emirates, Arteta replied: "I won't talk about a player who doesn't belong to our club. I'm very happy with the squad we have. And of course, we want to strengthen it further, and we are working actively to do so."
However, Arteta was definitive regarding the future of Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres. When asked if the forward would remain with the club, the manager gave a short, three-word response: "Yes, Gyokeres will stay."
Regarding reports linking Arsenal to Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior, the Spaniard was more reserved. He declined to go into specifics but emphasized that the London club remains "very ambitious" this window.
"We are very active, trying to improve and develop the team. We expect there to be movements in the next few weeks, naturally, because we want to become better. We won't sit idly by," Arteta added following the team's friendly win over Girona.
