Arsenal have ramped up their interest in Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez. The London club is reportedly eager to finalize the transfer before pre-season training commences to ensure the player has a full preparation period with the squad.
The competition for the 26-year-old has cooled recently, and Alvarez is now reportedly open to a move to the Premier League, despite having previously preferred to continue his career in Spain.
However, the financial side of the deal remains a significant hurdle. Arsenal are currently unwilling to exceed the 90-million-pound mark, whereas Atletico Madrid are holding out for a fee in excess of 100 million pounds.
The Argentine forward had a productive campaign last season, featuring in 49 matches, scoring 20 goals and providing 9 assists.
