Antonio Vergara signs long-term Napoli contract until 2031
Antonio Vergara has committed his future to Napoli until 2031. Manager Massimiliano Allegri is already experimenting with a new role for the midfielder.

Napoli have officially announced the extension of Antonio Vergara's contract, securing the midfielder's future at the club until June 30, 2031. The new deal, which includes an option for further extension, signals the club's long-term commitment to their academy graduate.
Since making his first-team debut on August 23, 2025, against Sassuolo, Vergara has emerged as a bright talent. His standout performance included a brilliant goal against Chelsea and a decisive winner against Fiorentina. Having already made 19 appearances and tasted success with the Italian Super Cup, Vergara has become a vital part of the squad.
Despite recent transfer links to Como and Tottenham, the 2003-born midfielder remains at Napoli. New manager Massimiliano Allegri has been working closely with him at the Dimaro training camp.

Vergara is now competing for a significant role in the rotation across the league, Champions League, and Coppa Italia. Beyond his midfield duties, the coaching staff also views him as a versatile attacking option, capable of playing in the front three to support central striker Rasmus Hojlund alongside other attacking talents.
