Alvaro Fidalgo remains out of the starting eleven as Real Betis faces Real Madrid in Matchday 4 of LaLiga. The Spanish-Mexican midfielder is yet to see official action during the 2026/2027 season.
His absence until now has been a combination of knee discomfort and tactical decisions by manager Manuel Pellegrini. Fidalgo's last competitive minutes on the pitch date back to the summer pre-season preparations on August 15, 2026, against Inter Milan.
However, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Fidalgo has been named on the bench for today's high-stakes encounter against Real Madrid at the Estadio La Cartuja. His inclusion provides hope that he could make his LaLiga 2026/27 debut.
Given the demanding nature of the match against one of the league's undefeated leaders, Fidalgo could be introduced as a substitute to replace the likes of Marc Roca, Facundo Bernal, or Isco. Betis looks to improve their position in the table with a positive result against the Madrid side.
