Ahead of the Champions League match against Atletico Madrid, Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has openly shared his frustration regarding his contract status. The Argentine confirmed that during the summer transfer window, he was informed that the club would not be offering him a new deal.
Mac Allister admitted that the situation is painful, particularly as his midfield colleagues Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai have both received contract extensions.
I received the news that the club cannot offer me a new contract, which, of course, upsets me very, very much. Everyone sees that I give 100% for this club every day in training and in games. Of course, I see Dominik and Ryan extending their contracts, and I am very happy because they deserve it. But I am also a little sad that I did not get mine. Alexis Mac Allister
Despite receiving offers from other teams during the summer, the midfielder decided to stay at Anfield, emphasizing his commitment to the club. New Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola responded diplomatically, noting that Mac Allister remains a key player and that financial discussions could be revisited in the future.
