Zico calls for Endrick to start for Brazil in World Cup

Brazilian football icon Zico has criticised the national team's performance following their 1-1 draw in the World Cup opener against Morocco. The former star believes the team requires tactical and personnel changes, specifically advocating for Endrick to be included in the starting lineup.

Speaking to ESPN, Zico highlighted that the Real Madrid forward possesses the unique qualities the team lacked during their first match. "I don't see any other player there with the characteristics and personality of Endrick to chase down a difficult situation. He has a good record with the national team, overcomes adversity on the pitch, and is a decisive player who is always attentive to opponent errors," Zico stated.

Endrick remained on the bench throughout the match against Morocco, while Igor Thiago started in the attack. Zico noted that Brazil played in a "very predictable" manner, lacking the necessary movement and positional fluidity that suggests a lack of collective cohesion. He believes the inclusion of the young striker could provide the necessary spark.

The Brazilian national team is scheduled to face Haiti this Friday, June 19, at 21:30 (Brasília time) at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Currently sitting in third place in Group C after the opening round, the team is under pressure to secure a win to improve their standing in the tournament.
