Zamalek settles debts to secure CAF Champions League licence

Zamalek have officially confirmed that they have cleared the necessary financial hurdles to obtain their African licence for the upcoming CAF Champions League season. The club's participation had previously been in doubt due to FIFA sanctions stemming from outstanding dues to former coaches and players.

Vice-president Hisham Nasr revealed that the board of directors, led by club president Hussein Labib, made resolving these cases their top priority. A special committee was formed to secure the necessary funds to satisfy FIFA's requirements.

The club successfully settled the outstanding debt owed to Ukrainian side FC Oleksandriya, as well as resolving the case involving former player Ibrahima Ndiaye. Nasr noted that the process involved overcoming significant external obstacles, but the club has now definitively closed these files.

This achievement ensures that Zamalek can compete in continental tournaments without administrative hindrance. The board has reiterated its commitment to financial stability and regulatory compliance to support the team’s future progress.
