Vitaliy Volochay criticizes Rukh Lviv's withdrawal from UPL
Renowned commentator Vitaliy Volochay slammed the decision to withdraw Rukh Lviv from the league, claiming it was manipulated to save Oleksandriya.
Renowned sports commentator Vitaliy Volochay has reacted emotionally to the withdrawal of Rukh Lviv from the Ukrainian championship. He claims the decision was intentionally delayed until the final day to provide Oleksandriya with a lifeline to remain in the league.
Oleksandriya, managed by Volodymyr Sharan, finished 15th in the standings, which would typically result in direct relegation to the First League. However, the withdrawal of Rukh allowed the team to compete in play-off matches instead.
We are being made into clowns, it is a stupid mockery. Everyone knew perfectly well that it would be done in such a way that Oleksandriya would play in the transition matches. Vitaliy Volochay
Volochay believes such scenarios arise due to flaws in the technical regulations of the UPL. The commentator described the situation as shameful, arguing that it undermines the achievements and development of Ukrainian football.
