A transfer dispute has emerged in French football involving goalkeeper Maxime Adam. The conflict began when Pau FC announced the signing of the 23-year-old to his first professional contract, just hours after FCSR Haguenau had officially unveiled him as their new recruit on social media.
Haguenau reacted strongly to the development, releasing a statement to clarify that they had signed a memorandum of understanding with the player on June 16, 2026, binding him to the club until June 30, 2027. The club's leadership expressed their astonishment at the announcement from Pau and stated that they have full confidence in the relevant governing bodies to establish the facts and handle the case according to existing regulations.
Pau FC has not removed their announcements regarding Adam, who recorded 13 appearances in the National 2 division last season. The situation remains tense as the two clubs prepare for a potential legal battle over the validity of the goalkeeper's registration.
