Long-serving Harrogate Town manager Simon Weaver has become a co-owner of the club, bringing an end to his father's ownership era.

Weaver and local businessman Jonathan Bleazard have completed a takeover deal, which the club described as an important new chapter in its history. The change marks a shift from the previous family-run model under Irving Weaver, who had been the owner since 2011.

This should not be viewed as family succession. Both Simon and Jonathan are making a significant commitment to this football club and, crucially, they are doing so together. Irving Weaver

Simon Weaver has been in charge since May 2009. Under the leadership of the Weavers, the club achieved promotion to the Football League for the first time in 2020. After six seasons in League Two, the team was relegated to the National League last season and is currently sitting second in the table after 13 matches.

Weaver clarified that his managerial responsibilities remain unchanged, noting that he will continue to be judged on results as he strives to push the team forward.
