São Paulo squad update: Injury and suspension news ahead of Brasileirão return

São Paulo is gearing up for the return of the Brazilian Championship, with their next match scheduled for July 22 against Athletico-PR in Bragança Paulista. The team has been training since mid-June, and the squad is looking significantly stronger than it did before the World Cup break.

Previously, coach Dorival Júnior faced a depleted squad due to injuries and disciplinary issues. However, the international break provided time for recovery. Luciano and Cauly have been cleared by the medical department, while Robert Bobadilla has rejoined the team following his World Cup participation, and Robert Arboleda has been reintegrated after disciplinary issues were resolved.

Currently, the medical department is only managing the recovery of two players. Lucas Moura is recovering from an injury and is not expected to return until late in the season, while Sabino is in the final stages of his physical transition and is expected to be available for selection in the coming weeks.

The club is also continuing its effort to trim the squad. Players such as Cédric Soares, Luan, Young, and Paulinho are training separately and are not expected to be reintegrated, as the club aims to negotiate their departures.

São Paulo currently sits in 7th place in the league table with 25 points. With the squad nearly at full strength, the team aims to maintain its momentum in both the national championship and the Copa Sudamericana.
