Milan manager Ruben Amorim expressed his satisfaction with his team's performance in their 3-1 Serie A derby victory against Inter. The Portuguese coach noted that while the result is a massive positive, the club remains in a developmental phase that cannot be completed overnight.
"I was pleased with many things; we started very well. They are very strong in the air, but we changed our approach, and I think compared to other games, we are progressing. In the second half, we controlled the ball, we did very well, and Luka Modric helped a lot with that," Amorim said.
It wasn't an incredible game, but it was a fantastic evening for our fans, and after Wednesday, it was important for us to win to keep moving forward. Ruben Amorim
The manager highlighted the impact of key players: "Hila, Moreira, and Rabiot made a huge difference in the match, not just with their quality, but with their characteristics in how we train."
Amorim urged the fans to remain realistic about the team's trajectory: "We will have amazing evenings like this, and we will have bad moments, like in the match against Bologna. That is part of the process. It's good to win these matches to explain to the fans: this is a process that takes time. You cannot change everything in one day."
