Robert Dante Siboldi accuses Tigres of smear campaign

Former Tigres manager Robert Dante Siboldi has spoken out again regarding his controversial departure from the club in the summer of 2024. In a recent podcast appearance with Jaime Urdiales, the Uruguayan coach alleged that the club's hierarchy fabricated a narrative linking him to player Tatiana Flores as a pretext to fire his coaching staff.

Siboldi stated that the club had already reached an agreement with Veljko Paunovic and needed a way to remove the current staff without triggering backlash from the fans. According to the manager, when the initial plan failed, the club turned to a "Plan B" designed to discredit his reputation by implicating him in a false situation involving the women's team player.

Siboldi pointed out that the club failed to issue any public statements defending Tatiana Flores, who remains with the team to this day. He characterized these actions as a standard operating procedure for the club's management at the time, aimed solely at their own benefit.

The Uruguayan took charge of Tigres late in the 2023 Clausura, replacing Miguel Herrera, and immediately led the team to the Liga MX title. Over 67 matches in charge, he recorded 31 victories before his departure in 2024.
