The final day of the Premier League season brought an emotional conclusion as Manchester City said goodbye to manager Pep Guardiola. In his final match at the helm, the team suffered a 1:2 defeat against Aston Villa. Despite taking the lead through Semenyo in the 23rd minute, City were undone by an Ollie Watkins brace in the second half, ending the Spaniard's ten-year tenure on a somber note.
The match also served as a farewell for club legends Bernardo Silva and John Stones. Both players, who have been integral to City’s success, are leaving the club as free agents. They were given a guard of honor by both teams as they departed the pitch, marking the end of an era for the Citizens.
Elsewhere, newly crowned champions Arsenal capped off their historic season with a 2:1 victory over Crystal Palace. Goals from Gabriel Jesus and Noni Madueke secured the win, allowing the Gunners to celebrate the title they clinched last week—their first in 20 years. Mateta scored a late consolation goal for the hosts.
