Oliver Glasner eyes AC Milan job, awaiting final call

Former Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has prioritized AC Milan as his next career step and is waiting for a follow-up from the club's hierarchy.

Italian giants AC Milan are undergoing a major rebuild following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season. Oliver Glasner remains one of the top candidates for the head coach position. According to reports, the Austrian tactician has identified Milan as his priority and is now waiting for further contact with the club's leadership.

Last week, the manager's agent held an initial meeting with club advisor Zlatan Ibrahimović and owner Gerry Cardinale. Meanwhile, the club is also working to appoint a new technical director. Austrian national team coach Ralf Rangnick is among the main contenders, reportedly seeking significant control over the club’s sporting project.

Should both Glasner and Rangnick join the San Siro outfit, the chances of signing Real Madrid defender David Alaba would increase significantly. The 34-year-old has been linked with Inter Milan and Juventus, but his strong relationship with Rangnick could prove decisive in bringing him to Milan.
