The future of 27-year-old midfielder Joe Willock at Newcastle United remains uncertain. Although his current contract runs until the summer of 2027, the club has yet to initiate discussions regarding an extension. This lack of progress has led the club's leadership to consider a sale during the upcoming winter transfer window to secure a transfer fee while the player's value remains high.

Interest from Besiktas persists, as the Turkish side previously attempted to sign the Englishman during the summer transfer window only to be rejected. It is expected that the Istanbul-based club will return with a new approach in January. Despite the speculation, Willock remains a key part of the team under manager Matthias Jaissle, playing regularly throughout the current campaign.

Willock joined Newcastle in 2021 after a move from Arsenal. Since then, he has made nearly 190 appearances for the Magpies across all competitions. His most notable spell remains the end of the 2020/21 season, where he set a club record by scoring in seven consecutive Premier League matches while on loan.
