Newcastle United have entered negotiations with Osasuna regarding the signing of Spanish winger Victor Munoz. The club is actively seeking a replacement for Anthony Gordon, who recently joined Barcelona for £69.3m.
While Munoz is considered a top target for the Magpies, a deal for the rapid forward has not been finalised yet. The player currently has a release clause set at 40m Euros (£34.5m).
This pursuit marks a shift in Newcastle's recruitment strategy, focusing on speed and younger talent. The club has already secured 20-year-old goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen from Stade de Reims for £18.5m and is looking to add 22-year-old Munoz to their ranks to ensure the squad is ready for the new season.
Munoz, who previously spent time at both Real Madrid and Barcelona, is currently preparing for the World Cup with Spain. Luis de la Fuente's squad is scheduled to face Cape Verde in Atlanta on 15 June.
