Morocco eye goal difference boost in bid to top World Cup group
Morocco need a big win against Haiti to leapfrog Brazil and secure the top spot in Group C of the World Cup.

Following the conclusion of the second round in Group C of the World Cup, the situation remains tight at the top. Brazil currently lead the group with four points and a +3 goal difference. However, despite sitting in first place, the side managed by Carlo Ancelotti has not yet guaranteed the top spot, as Morocco also have four points and remain in contention.
In the final group stage fixture, the Moroccans will face Haiti, the lowest-ranked team in the group according to FIFA. To overcome Brazil's current goal difference, the team led by Mohamed Ouahbi needs to secure a victory by a margin of at least three goals. Should Brazil win their match against Scotland by a single goal, Morocco would likely need a victory by a five-goal margin to clinch the lead.
Statistics indicate that throughout the current World Cup cycle, Morocco have shown impressive attacking form, securing 15 heavy victories. Their biggest win came against Lesotho, ending in a 7-0 result. The technical staff, however, recognizes that Haiti presents a different challenge compared to some of the opponents faced during the qualifying stages.
If the goal difference metric remains level after the final matches, the leadership of the group will be decided by the total number of goals scored. Should that also result in a tie, the final decider would be the fair play disciplinary index.
