Matthias Jaissle promises intensity remains Newcastle identity as transfer talks continue

New Newcastle United head coach Matthias Jaissle is preparing for his first match at St James' Park, insisting that his side will maintain their identity of high-intensity, aggressive football. The German coach is working to ensure his squad is ready for the demands of the new Premier League season.

Jaissle admitted that his players have not yet reached the physical sharpness required to press for the full 90 minutes. With two pre-season friendlies left, including a clash with Bayer Leverkusen, the coaching staff is focused on building the necessary load ahead of the opener against Liverpool.

Obviously, you would love to play over 90 minutes with intensity - that belongs to Newcastle.
