Manchester United withdraw from Alex Scott pursuit

Manchester United have ended their pursuit of Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott. The club's hierarchy has decided to walk away from the deal due to the significant financial demands set by the south-coast club.

According to reports from the Mirror, Bournemouth are holding out for a fee in the region of £70 million for the 22-year-old. United’s officials view that valuation as excessive, believing the player's market worth is closer to £40 million. Consequently, the club has shelved the transfer for the foreseeable future.

While Arsenal have also been linked with the midfielder, they are currently prioritising a move for Newcastle United's Bruno Guimaraes. Furthermore, Scott himself has expressed concerns regarding his potential playing time at the Emirates Stadium, given the depth of the squad.

Bournemouth remain firm in their stance, unwilling to sanction an exit for anything less than their valuation. The midfielder's summer move remains on ice until an offer arrives that aligns more closely with the club's financial expectations.
