Manchester United are exploring a move for Leeds United goalkeeper Karl Darlow as they assess their options for the upcoming season. The 35-year-old is being targeted as a potential experienced back-up option for the squad.
Darlow’s contract at Elland Road expires at the end of this month, making him available on a free transfer. Despite Leeds' desire to retain the player, he is widely expected to depart this summer, with the prospect of joining a club involved in the Champions League acting as a potential incentive.
The interest in Darlow arises amid reports suggesting that both Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana could potentially leave during the summer window. Securing an experienced keeper without a transfer fee would provide Manchester United with much-needed financial flexibility, allowing them to allocate resources to other areas of the squad.
During his time with Leeds, Darlow made 22 league appearances, recording five clean sheets. The club is also keeping an eye on other alternatives, including Wolves' Sam Johnstone, as they continue to evaluate the best path forward for their goalkeeping department.
