Manchester United sanction permanent move for Gabriele Biancheri to Wacker Innsbruck

Manchester United have completed the permanent transfer of young forward Gabriele Biancheri to Austrian club Wacker Innsbruck following the English deadline.

Manchester United have sanctioned the permanent exit of young forward Gabriele Biancheri, who has joined Austrian second-tier side Wacker Innsbruck. The deal was finalized shortly after the English transfer window officially closed at 11pm on Tuesday.

Despite the English deadline passing, clubs are permitted to sanction player exits to countries where the transfer window remains open. As the Austrian deadline concluded on Thursday, Manchester United were able to complete the administrative process for the permanent transfer.

Biancheri originally arrived at Old Trafford from Cardiff City in 2023 but struggled to break into the first team under manager Michael Carrick. The striker gained senior experience during the second half of last season, during which he made 11 appearances on loan at Rotherham United.

The departure of Biancheri follows a trend of late-window exits at the club. Earlier on Thursday, Manchester United also confirmed a season-long loan move for Chido Obi to Dutch club Willem II, as the player seeks regular first-team football opportunities.
