Manchester City have officially confirmed the signing of 23-year-old midfielder Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest. The deal, worth a club-record £116 million, sees the England international commit to a contract running until June 2031.

Talks surrounding the transfer were active while Anderson was representing England at the World Cup, with an agreement between the two clubs finalized on the eve of the group stage clash against Panama. Anderson stated that he did not hesitate once the opportunity to join the club became clear.

As soon as I knew City wanted me, I was absolutely determined to make this move happen. You want to test yourself at the highest level. Being at City means I have that opportunity. Elliot Anderson

City's director of football, Hugo Viana, praised the midfielder for his energy, work rate, and passing range, suggesting the club believes he can develop into a complete midfielder. Anderson will now integrate into the squad under the management of Enzo Maresca, who took charge following the departure of Pep Guardiola.

Anderson arrives at the Etihad Stadium following a standout stint at Forest, where he played a pivotal role in the club's seventh-place finish and their first European qualification in 30 years. He is expected to join the squad for training after a short break.
