Tottenham Hotspur defender Luka Vušković is closing in on a permanent transfer to Brighton & Hove Albion. The player has arrived at his new club to undergo a mandatory medical examination, with an official announcement expected shortly.
The London club signed the Croatian talent from Hajduk Split last summer for 11 million euros but immediately sent him on loan to Hamburger SV. The 19-year-old enjoyed a highly successful campaign in the 2. Bundesliga, contributing six goals and one assist in 30 appearances, establishing himself as one of the league's top defensive prospects.
The move comes after Tottenham secured Brighton's Jan Paul van Hecke for 60 million euros, which significantly limited Vušković's path to the first team. Brighton moved quickly to sign the youngster, agreeing to a fee of 53 million euros plus 5 million euros in potential add-ons. The deal also includes a 20% sell-on clause.
