Bayern Munich winger Luis Díaz has been ruled out of action after medical examinations confirmed the extent of his injury. The Colombian international suffered a muscle tear in the back of his left thigh during the recent Champions League clash against Arsenal at the Allianz Arena.

The club explained that the issue was initially aggravated during the match against RB Leipzig but worsened when he came off the bench against the Gunners. Despite initial optimism from both the player and manager Vincent Kompany, who believed the injury was minor, official tests from the medical department have confirmed a fibre tear.

Bayern has not provided a precise timeline for his return, though such muscle injuries typically require between two and four weeks of recovery. Consequently, Díaz will be unavailable for the upcoming Bundesliga fixture against Freiburg, forcing Kompany to find a replacement in the squad for the immediate future.
