Ahead of the 2026 World Cup final, Spain manager Luis de la Fuente has issued a clear directive to his squad. The coach emphasized that to succeed against Argentina, his team must remain true to the identity that brought them to the final and avoid engaging in any unnecessary discussions or provocations on the pitch.

The manager clarified that his comments were not a direct reference to Argentina's style of play, but rather a reminder for his own players to stick to their game plan. He highlighted that Spain's strength lies in their ability to control the ball, maintain discipline without it, and press aggressively to regain possession and launch counter-attacks.
De la Fuente also discussed his personal relationship with Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni. While acknowledging their mutual admiration and friendship, he noted that the camaraderie will be set aside during the final, as both are fierce competitors determined to win the world title.
