In the opening round of the Champions League group stage, Lens pulled off a stunning comeback to defeat Slavia Prague 3-2. The match was a true rollercoaster, with the result decided only in the final moments of play.
The second half started with a major setback for the hosts: Slavia's Matej Konecny was shown a straight red card in the 49th minute, leaving his team a man down. However, despite Lens's numerical advantage, they actually conceded first when David Sturm opened the scoring in the 51st minute.
The French club managed to equalize in the 73rd minute through Sima. Just when the game seemed destined for a draw, Sturm scored his second of the night in the 88th minute to put Slavia back in front. However, Lens refused to give up; Thauvin leveled the score in the first minute of stoppage time, and two minutes later, in the third minute of added time, Aguilar netted the winner to secure all three points for the visitors.
