Liga MX sides are proving to be a tough challenge in this year's Leagues Cup, disrupting the recent trend of MLS dominance in the tournament.

Orlando City suffered a disappointing loss to León. Despite an early stunner from Marco Pašalić, the Mexican side rallied with goals from Juan Guevara and Daniel Arcila. Antoine Griezmann was left frustrated after failing to convert four clear chances.

FC Dallas pulled off a major upset against Chivas. Although the Mexican powerhouse dominated possession with 72 percent, the Hoops secured a 1-0 win thanks to a late strike from substitute Logan Farrington and a standout performance from goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois.

Inter Miami fell 2-1 to Monterrey in an emotional match without Lionel Messi. Rodrigo De Paul gave Miami an early lead, but second-half goals from Hugo Cuypers and Diego Rossi sealed the win for the visitors. Meanwhile, LAFC exacted revenge on Toluca for their Champions Cup exit, with defender Eddie Segura scoring the decisive goal in a tightly contested victory.
