Laporta slams Real Madrid's 'tantrums' over Negreira case

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has hit back at Real Madrid following their decision to submit a dossier to UEFA regarding the Negreira refereeing scandal. Laporta dismissed the move as a desperate attempt to create a distraction, insisting that the Catalan club has nothing to fear.

Addressing the media, Laporta stated: "They will not get away with it. We know what UEFA thinks about this issue, regarding all of this, and they will not get away with it. It is just another tantrum from them, trying to stretch this issue out to justify actions that make no sense and will not prosper."

The Barcelona chief suggested that Madrid are weaponizing the legal situation to hide their own structural and logistical difficulties. Laporta mocked the situation at the Santiago Bernabeu, claiming the UEFA complaint serves as a smokescreen to divert attention from challenges regarding their transition into a public limited company and other organizational issues.

Despite Madrid's claims about a 500-page document submitted to European football's governing body, Laporta insisted that legal proceedings tell a different story. He emphasized that Barcelona has provided evidence in the procedure, while the opposing parties have not presented any concrete proof to support their accusations. Barca has threatened legal action if these allegations are not retracted.
