The Spain national team secured the 2026 World Cup title after a narrow 1-0 victory over Argentina in the final. Spanish winger Lamine Yamal played a key role in the tournament, securing his place in football history with this result.
Yamal is now the first player ever to win both the European Championship and the World Cup before reaching the age of 20. Spain previously claimed the European title in 2024.
This achievement surpasses the previous age record held by Cesc Fàbregas, who set the mark at 23. Throughout the 2026 World Cup campaign, Yamal appeared in eight matches and scored one goal.
