Spain extended their remarkable undefeated streak to 40 matches with a resounding 4-1 victory over Croatia in the UEFA Nations League. The match, held at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, was headlined by a spectacular performance from Lamine Yamal.
Yamal broke the deadlock just 70 seconds into the game, marking the fastest goal of his career. The 18-year-old then provided a crucial assist for Marc Pubill on the half-hour mark before adding his second goal in the 63rd minute against his Barcelona team-mate Dominik Livakovic. Substitute Nico Williams added a late fourth to cap off the scoring.

Reflecting on his goal against Livakovic, Yamal noted that his familiarity with the goalkeeper from training sessions proved decisive. The teenager’s current form, which has seen him contribute 11 goals and seven assists in his last eight appearances, has fueled growing speculation surrounding his status as a top contender for the 2026 Ballon d'Or.
Spain will look to continue their momentum in the Nations League when they face Czechia on October 3, followed by a rematch against Croatia on October 6.
