Midfielder Konrad Laimer has officially signed a contract extension with Bayern Munich, keeping him at the Allianz Arena until the summer of 2029. The 29-year-old Austria international has become a key utility player for the team, demonstrating versatility across right-back, left-back, and midfield roles.
Addressing his role under manager Vincent Kompany, Laimer expressed that he is happy to play wherever required.
I have no idea. I feel comfortable in a lot of different positions. Over the last two years, I've mostly played at right-back, but also occasionally at left-back. I think I can help the team there with my qualities. Where I play doesn't matter to me, as long as I'm out on the pitch. Konrad Laimer
Despite previous exit rumors during stalled negotiations, Laimer maintained that his priority was always to stay at the club. He noted that once communication picked up, the deal was finalized quickly.
Laimer is now focusing on the upcoming Franz Beckenbauer Supercup clash against Borussia Dortmund on August 22. His tactical flexibility and energy are expected to be vital as Bayern looks to secure their first piece of silverware under Kompany's leadership.
