Kees Smit reveals why he rejected Real Madrid to stay at AZ Alkmaar

AZ Alkmaar midfielder Kees Smit has revealed that he initially expected to leave his club during the summer transfer window after becoming a target for Real Madrid. The Spanish giants were searching for midfield reinforcements and included the 20-year-old on their shortlist of candidates.
