Leeds United centre-back Joe Rodon has been ruled out for eight to 10 weeks after sustaining a "serious hamstring injury." The 28-year-old was forced off just 34 minutes into Sunday's 1-1 draw against Brentford.

Rodon had been a regular in the side, featuring in the season-opening win against Nottingham Forest and the club's Carabao Cup victory over the same opponent. His injury comes at a difficult time for manager Daniel Farke, who described the setback as a "big blow" for his squad.

Farke suggested that the injury increases the pressure on the club to find defensive cover, with the versatile James Justin potentially required to fill in at centre-back. The manager also noted that the club may need to look at the January transfer window to address their defensive depth, which has already been tested by a pre-season injury to Gabriel Gudmundsson.

The news is also a significant concern for the Wales national team. Rodon will miss the upcoming Uefa Nations League fixtures against Portugal, Denmark, and Norway scheduled throughout September and early October.
