Colombian forward Jhon Córdoba has made an impactful return to the Russian Premier League. During Saturday's 2-2 draw between Krasnodar and Krylia Sovetov at the Samara Arena, the striker demonstrated he is back to full fitness by finding the net.
Córdoba opened the scoring just three minutes into the match. Following a corner kick that saw multiple deflections, the forward connected with a precise header to give Krasnodar an early lead.
This performance follows a difficult period for the player, who suffered an injury during Colombia's second match at the 2026 World Cup against the Democratic Republic of Congo. Before the weekend, he confirmed his recovery was complete.
I have already recovered, thank God, and I have started activity with the team. Now I can play again on the weekend and I am very happy that the recovery went well. Jhon Córdoba
Off the pitch, Córdoba has been actively involved in humanitarian efforts. Following the earthquake in Colombia on August 10, the striker organized the delivery of two planes and three trucks filled with supplies to support families affected in the Chocó department.
