Inter Miami returned to action following a seven-week break with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Chicago Fire. In the absence of Lionel Messi, who is currently on vacation, Luis Suarez stepped up as captain and scored twice to overshadow the debut of Polish star Robert Lewandowski.

The match marked Lewandowski's first appearance for the Fire following his move from Barcelona. He played for 62 minutes before being substituted. The winning goal came in the 87th minute courtesy of academy graduate Preston Plambeck.
