Folarin Balogun could still leave Monaco this summer despite his highly anticipated move to Everton collapsing on transfer deadline day. Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro confirmed that the club intends to discuss the striker's future, noting that transfer markets in other countries remain open.
The deal was at an advanced stage, with both clubs having signed paperwork and submitted a deal sheet to the Premier League. However, the transfer stalled following issues that emerged during the player's medical. While Everton was prepared to proceed, Balogun decided against the move, feeling mistreated by the English club and dismissing their concerns over his health as unfounded.
We are still waiting for Balo to come back for us, to sit and discuss and to realize between us what is next. We still have other markets open where we are having discussions. Selling Balogun was part of Monaco's financial plan for the current window. Since joining from Arsenal in 2023, the USMNT striker has been a central figure for the French side, but the club is now evaluating potential options in markets where the window has not yet closed.
