Florentino Perez has promised a club-record offer for a "great player" if re-elected as Real Madrid president this Sunday.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has pledged to make a club-record transfer offer if he is re-elected this Sunday. He stated he intends to bid around 150 million euros for an unnamed attacking player capable of playing in midfield.
Perez ruled out moves for Harry Kane, Michael Olise, Jeremy Doku, and Erling Haaland. The latter had been promised by election challenger Enrique Riquelme, a claim that prompted Manchester City to threaten legal action. Perez confirmed his target does not currently play in the Premier League.
The announcement comes amid a competitive election cycle, with Perez facing a challenge for the first time in 20 years following two seasons without major trophies. Beyond the potential new signing, he confirmed that his re-election would activate pre-agreed deals for manager Jose Mourinho, as well as defenders Denzel Dumfries and Ibrahima Konate.
