Non-league side Flixton FC have issued a statement to set the record straight following social media speculation that they were on the verge of signing Jadon Sancho. The former Manchester United winger was spotted using the club's training facilities, sparking unfounded rumors about a potential move.
In a formal statement, Flixton clarified the situation: "To clarify, Jadon was not on trial with the club and was not involved in any transfer discussions. He simply used our facilities for a private training session to maintain his fitness while preparing for the next chapter of his career."
The club praised the 26-year-old, who is currently a free agent following his departure from Manchester United, describing him as "nothing but professional, humble, and generous with his time." During his visit, Sancho reportedly spent time with young supporters, signing autographs and taking photos.
Sancho expressed his appreciation for the hospitality, thanking Flixton manager Alex Mortimer and complimenting the condition of the pitch. The club expressed frustration at the "unwarranted criticism" directed toward the player following the viral images of his visit.
