FC Metz has confirmed the appointment of Emmanuel Desplats as its new General Manager. The club, currently playing in Ligue 2 following their relegation last season, announced that Desplats will take the helm of the SASP FC Metz structure.
Desplats brings extensive experience to the club, having served as the General Manager of Dijon FCO from January 2021 to October 2024. Prior to that, he spent over twenty years at FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, where he served as Deputy Executive Director.
He succeeds Hélène Schrub, who has been the club's General Manager since 2016 and announced her departure in mid-May after two decades with the club. FC Metz stated that Schrub will assist with the transition until July 31, allowing Desplats to take full control of his duties on August 1.
The club also noted Desplats' legal background. In 2024, while at Dijon, he was fined 10,000 euros for his involvement in a transfer case concerning the payment of commissions to agents not licensed by the French Football Federation (FFF).
