Elche has officially appointed 40-year-old Argentine manager Martin Anselmi as their new head coach. The decision comes shortly after the departure of Eder Sarabia, who stepped down to be closer to his family after successfully keeping the club in La Liga.
This marks Anselmi's first experience managing in Spain. The contract is set for the upcoming season, with an option to extend for a second year based on the team's performance under his leadership.
Anselmi brings a diverse background to the role. While he is remembered for his successful tenures at Independiente del Valle in Ecuador and Cruz Azul in Mexico, his previous stints in Europe with Porto and in Brazil with Botafogo were less fruitful. The club will be looking for him to replicate his earlier successes in his new challenge in Spain.
