Dynamo Kyiv and Universitatea Cluj draw in Europa League qualifier

Dynamo Kyiv were held to a 0-0 draw by Universitatea Cluj in the first leg of their Europa League 2026/27 first qualifying round tie. The match, which served as a nominal home game for the Ukrainian side, took place at the Arena Lublin in Poland.

The Kyiv side dominated proceedings throughout both halves, registering a total of 25 shots. Despite the offensive pressure, only five of those attempts were on target, as the Romanian defense managed to keep a clean sheet.

This result leaves the tie finely balanced ahead of the decisive second leg. With no away goals advantage, both teams enter the next encounter knowing that a win is required to secure progression to the next round of the tournament.

The return leg is scheduled for July 16 at the Cluj Arena in Romania, where both sides will look to break the deadlock and advance.
