Former Liverpool and England goalkeeper David James has made a surprising transfer suggestion, urging his former club to explore the potential signing of Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford. Despite recent concerns regarding the forward's form, James remains a staunch admirer of his technical ability and football intelligence.
If I were Liverpool, I'd look to sign Marcus Rashford. I really would. Whether he plays on the left or the right isn't the main issue. Get him in first, and then you give it time to work out his best position. David James
James believes that the 28-year-old still possesses elite-level talent and insists that Liverpool's coaching environment, specifically under Andoni Iraola, could help the forward rediscover his best form. He pointed to Rashford's loan spell in Spain as evidence that the player is capable of performing at a high level when placed in a supportive environment.
Rashford's future currently remains uncertain following reports that Barcelona declined to trigger the 30-million-pound option to make his loan move permanent. While the England international is contracted to Manchester United until 2028, any permanent exit would require complex negotiations. Decisions regarding his next steps are not expected until after the World Cup.
