Cruzeiro set to replace Kaiki with Racing defender Gabriel Rojas

Cruzeiro is on the verge of a defensive overhaul, with the club nearing the signing of Argentine left-back Gabriel Rojas from Racing. The deal is currently held up only by bureaucratic details.

Simultaneously, the club is preparing to part ways with homegrown talent Kaiki. The left-back is reportedly close to a move to Italian side Como, with the transfer fee estimated at approximately 15 million euros.

A comparison of their statistics highlights the shift in profile. During his tenure at Racing, Rojas made 141 appearances, recording five goals and 22 assists with a 52% duel success rate. Meanwhile, Kaiki has played 129 times for Cruzeiro, contributing two goals and ten assists while maintaining a higher defensive average of 2.1 tackles per game compared to Rojas' 1.5.

This transition is part of a busy summer for the club, as Kauã Prates is also set to depart in August to join Borussia Dortmund.
