Corinthians face squad depletion for Remo clash after World Cup
Corinthians will be without several key players for their return to Brasileirão action against Remo, including the suspended Rodrigo Garro.

Following the conclusion of the World Cup, Corinthians are dealing with significant squad issues ahead of the domestic season restart. For their 19th-round Brasileirão fixture against Remo, scheduled for July 23 at the Neo Química Arena, head coach Fernando Diniz faces a challenging task in reassembling his team.
The primary absence will be midfielder Rodrigo Garro, who is suspended after picking up his third yellow card in the victory against Grêmio. His absence in the midfield is expected to be a major blow for the side as they look to maintain their competitive edge.
Beyond Garro's suspension, Diniz is managing a lengthy list of injury concerns. Defender João Pedro Tchoca remains sidelined while recovering from surgery for an inguinal hernia, while Vitinho is dealing with hip pain. Long-term absentees include Kayke, suffering from a lateral meniscus injury, and full-back Hugo, who is rehabilitating from an anterior cruciate ligament tear. Additionally, Memphis Depay’s status remains uncertain as he has yet to finalize a contract renewal.
Corinthians currently sit in 10th place in the league table with 24 points from 18 games. With commitments in both the Copa do Brasil and the Copa Libertadores approaching, the current lack of depth poses a significant hurdle for the coaching staff.
